Connect InvoiceRocket to Claude

InvoiceRocket speaks MCP, so Claude can work directly on your books — raise an invoice, chase what's overdue, log an expense, pull your GST position together. Setup takes about a minute and you sign in on our site, never inside Claude.

Setting it up

In Claude Cowork or Claude Desktop, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste https://invoicerocket.in/mcp as the server URL and leave the advanced OAuth fields empty — Claude registers itself. Claude then opens an InvoiceRocket page where you sign in with email or Google, pick which business the connection uses by default, and approve.

What Claude can do

Around thirty tools covering invoices and customers, expenses and timesheets, GST and compliance, reminders, P&L and bank reconciliation. Everything runs through the same validation the app uses, so an invoice Claude raises is numbered, taxed and GST-treated exactly like one you raise by hand.

How it stays safe

Claude never sees your password — sign-in happens on invoicerocket.in and Claude receives a scoped token that works nowhere else. The connection expires after three days. Every create or update has to be previewed first and submitted unchanged, so the server refuses a write it has not seen previewed. You can revoke a connection at any time.

Frequently asked questions

What is MCP, and why does InvoiceRocket support it?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for letting an AI assistant talk to an application. InvoiceRocket runs an MCP server, so Claude can read and update your books directly instead of you copying numbers back and forth. Any MCP-compatible client can connect, but Claude Cowork is what we build and test against.
Does Claude get my password?
No. You sign in on an InvoiceRocket page, not inside Claude, and Claude never sees your password or your Google credentials. What it receives is a limited access token that only works against InvoiceRocket and that you can revoke at any time.
Why do I have to reconnect every three days?
The connection is deliberately short-lived: three days after you approve it, it stops working and Claude asks you to sign in again. An AI assistant with standing write access to your accounting data is worth re-confirming often.
Can Claude change my data without asking?
Claude asks for your approval before running any tool that writes. On top of that, InvoiceRocket requires a two-step flow for every create or update: Claude has to preview the exact change first and then submit that same previewed payload.
Which organization does it use if I run more than one business?
You pick a default when you approve the connection. Claude can still reach your other organizations if you name them explicitly, and every request re-checks that you are a member of the organization it is touching.
Does this cost anything?
No. The MCP connector is included on every InvoiceRocket plan, including the free tier. You will need a Claude plan that supports custom connectors — Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise all do.
